Dr Vicki Collet is an Associate Professor of Elementary Education at the University of Arkansas, where she works with preservice teachers and doctoral students in Literacy Studies. Dr Collet is Associate Director of Northwest Arkansas Writing Project. Prior to her work in higher education, Dr Collet worked as a teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum coordinator in K-12 schools. She holds a Ph.D. from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. Dr Collet publishes on topics related to teacher professional development and literacy learning. She leads a teacher professional development team facilitating Lesson Study in public schools. Her book on this topic, Collaborative Lesson Study: ReVisioning Teacher Professional Development, will be available fall 2019 from Teachers College Press. As a Fulbright Scholar, Dr Collet will conduct research on the capacity of Lesson Study to support teachers’ planning and professional learning and to encourage culturally-relevant pedagogy.
