As a recipient of the Fulbright/RCSI PhD award, Matthew Hiller (Northeastern ’24) will be expanding upon his previous research experiences in biomedical sciences to understand how disrupting cancer cell metabolism can affect immune cell activation in the tumor microenvironment. Matthew graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Bioengineering. He will be working in RCSI’s Targeted Therapeutics in Cancer lab under Dr. TrĂ­ona NĂ­ Chonghaile. Matthew has specific research experience in the field of protein biochemistry, where he has contributed to the development of processes for the biochemical characterization of antibody-based immunotherapies in the treatment of cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
