Oisín Kavanagh is a PhD student in the Solid State Pharmaceutical Centre (SSPC), based in the Bernal Institute at the University of Limerick. He is a qualified pharmacist, graduating from the University of Ulster in 2016 with First class honours where he also received the Gold Medal of the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland. Oisín will visit the lab of Professor Naúr Rodriguez-Hornedo at the University of Michigan. There he will continue his research in crystal engineering to unlock the potential of new and old medicines in novel therapeutic contexts.
