January 16th, 2013: EducationUSA Undergraduate Seminar Will Occur on February 16th
The annual EducationUSA Undergraduate Seminar will take place on Saturday, February 16th, 2013.
Every year EducationUSA hosts an Undergraduate Seminar for students who are considering going to college in the US. This year’s event will take place on February 16th in Dublin City Centre.
It is free to attend the seminar, but you must register in advance. Please send your name, current secondary school, and total number of attendees to educationusa@fulbright.ie before February 8th, 2013 to confirm your attendance.
This seminar is aimed at prospective students, parents, guidance counsellors, and teachers. All interested participants are welcome, but please note there are a limited number of spaces.
The proposed schedule is as follows:
10:00 – 10:30: An Overview to Undergraduate Study in the US: Researching your Options and Completing your Application by Joanne A. Davidson, EducationUSA Advisor
10:30 – 11:00: College Life at the University of Notre Dame by Patrick McCoy, Class of 2010 and current postgraduate student at Trinity College Dublin
11:00 – 11:15: Break
11:15 – 11:45: Life as a Student Athlete by Michael Westbrooks, former Varsity Basketball Player at Colby College and current Guidance Counsellor at Gaelchoilaste Reachrann in Donaghmede
11:45 – 12:30: Q&A Discussion with Current US College Students from University of California, Berkeley, Arcadia University, and American College Dublin
12:30 – 1:00: SAT/ACT Study Tips, by Deirdre Murphy of TestPrepDublin

This seminar is a great opportunity to learn more about college in the United States, to meet former and current US college students, and to begin the process of preparing a successful college application.

The event will take place at the Keogh-Naughton Notre Dame Centre, O’Connell House, 58 Merrion Square, Dublin 2, Ireland.
This venue is very close to the DART and Luas lines, as well as many bus lines. There is limited paid parking on Merrion Square.
